NILES - Billie Ruth Holbrook, 81, of West Third Street, died Tuesday February 4, 2014 at 5:30 pm at her residence following a short illness.
She was born in St. Charles, Virginia on February 17, 1932 the daughter of William and Minnie (Harris) Newton.
A graduate of St. Charles High School, she was an insurance agent with National Life Insurance Company. She attended the Praise Cathedral Church of God. Billie loved and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping in thier motorhome, country music and nature. Her backyard was a sanctuary to all the wildlife who she watched and fed.
Billie is survived by five children, Victor (Kim) Holbrook Jr. of Niles, Ralph E. (Diane) Holbrook of Austintown, Carol (Ron) Rossi of Boardman, Timothy Holbrook of Niles, Herbert (Desiree) Holbrook of Niles; 10 grandchildren, Victoria Maroulis, Mark Weeks, Stephany Sericola, Tiffany Harklerode, April Cruz, Brent Holbrook, Laurie Pizzulo, Chad Holbrook, Jesse Holbrook, Durango Holbrook; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Currence of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor P. Holbrook Sr. whom she married on September 12, 1952 and who died on May 9, 2011; her parents; her siblings, Ben, Oscar, James, Robert, Jewell, Ruby, Jessie, Freamon, John, Bonnie, Cora and Omer.
Calling Hours will be Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm and Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 10:00 to 10:30 am at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Rev. James Salyers will officiate. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
