Carl Eugene Lawson Jr.

Carl Eugene Lawson Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge. Carl was born in Warren, Ohio on May 1, 1940, the son of Carl Eugene and Edith Mildred (Holt) Lawson Sr. and lived in Niles his entire life.

Carl was a 1960 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and graduated from a barber school in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a security guard for ten years with Ohio Security and attended the First United Methodist Church of Niles.

Carl loved watching old movies and cheering on his favorite sports teams - Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Niles McKinley Red Dragons.

Carl is survived by his aunt, Joan (Holt) Bullock and her husband Richard of Cary, North Carolina and cousins James Holt, Lisa Theiss, Lynn Kittel and Bruce Bullock.

He was preceded in death by: his beloved grandparents, Ottis ("Nick") and Lela Brewer Holt; father; mother; step-father Rudy Roodhouse; uncle Edward ("Red") Holt; and half-brother David Lawson.

A private ceremony will be held at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, and burial will be in Girard City Cemetery.
