Charles Earl Myers, 86, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Thursday December 29, 2022 at the St. Joseph Health Center following a brief illness. He was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on June 18, 1936 the son of Charles Everett and Dorothy (Milligan) Myers.
He honorably served in the United States Navy. For over 25 years, he was a butcher at Niles Macali's Giant Eagle. He was a member of the Army & Navy Garrison 252 and the Niles Sons of Italy Club. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time playing on his computer and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Connie (Dennis) Pykare of Warren, Helen (Edward) Banaszewski of West View, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Tina (Eric) McCloskey, Matthew Banaszewski, Christopher Banaszewski, Nichole (Gary) Salatino, Michelle (Chris Teski) Jackson; seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Alina, Cameron, Carissa, Kaylee, Angelo, Nicco; two sisters, Nadeen Wieczorkowski of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania and Rebecca Bendel of Liberty Boro, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen Rose Navarro Myers whom he married on May 7, 1961 and who died on April 18, 2016 and a brother, Kenneth Myers.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 7, 2023 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Douglas Brown of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
