Diana Marie Schimpf

NILES - Diana Marie Schimpf 73, passed away on Friday afternoon, January 14, 2022 at the St. Joseph Health Center with her son by her side. Diana was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 27, 1948 the daughter of Joseph and Doris (Hornung) Schimpf.

Diana was a graduate of the Villa Joseph Marie High School and was of the Catholic faith. After having her son, Brian, in St. Cloud, Florida she raised him there while working at The Walt Disney Company where she made many lifelong friends. Later they lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and
Murfreesboro, Tennessee before Diana settled in Niles, Ohio with her partner, Gene. She was an avid collector of Longaberger baskets and following her retirement, she enjoyed attending auctions, collecting antiques and selling them on eBay. A snowbird, she traveled to Florida during the cold winter months of northeastern Ohio.

Diana is survived by a son, Brian J. Schimpf of Brooklyn, New York; her companion of twenty years, Gene Faith with whom she lived in Niles; and two sisters, Jo-Ann Moyer and Michelle Van Kirk both of Saint Cloud, Florida.
