Dolores Jean Chipps

NEWTON TOWNSHIP - Dolores Jean Chipps, 87, passed away on Saturday October 8, 2022 at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. Dolores was born July 24, 1935 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Daughter of Charles McCoy and Marie Abbott. Dolores was raised by her Mother and Step-Father Clarence Estes. She was of the Nazarene Faith. Dolores married the love of her life, Ralph Chipps Sr. on December 1, 1951.

She enjoyed playing bingo. She always knew the best places to go. She also loved playing cards. Partly because she could cheat and most of the time, get away with it. She loved to gamble. You could often find her on her favorite slot machines. Dolores also loved to cook. She could never cook for just one. It was always a feast for fifty at grandmas house. Most of all, Dolores absolutely loved spending time with her family. She was a busy woman spending most of time with her "babies" her seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. You will be missed deeply by so many who called you grandma. In everything she did, it always came from her whole heart.

Dolores is survived by her three children; Ronnie Chipps, Wanda Eileen Novotny, which whom she made her home, Ralph Chipps Jr. all of Newton Township. Her sister, Marlene (Ed) Madden of Niles and several nieces and nephews. Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband and a brother Vernon Estes.

Per Dolores' wishes, there will be no services held. A celebration of her life will be held for her family and closest friends at a later date. Dolores will be cremated and her ashes will be placed next to her husband at Niles City Cemetery. Arrangements by Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, 126 West Park Avenue, Niles, Ohio 44446.
