Doris T. Bowen

Doris T. Bowen, 95, passed away peacefully at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday February 11, 2023 at the Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Detriot, Michigan on August 8, 1927 the daughter of Eloi and Flora (Bussineau) Terrian.

Doris was a graduate of St. Gregory High School in Michigan and a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles. Throughout her life she worked at Niles General Electric, Hills Department Store, Executive Inn and Avalon Inn. She enjoyed playing bingo and sudoku, watching horse racing and Turner Classic movies. Most of all, she will be remembered for her kindness and caring manner and how she made her children and grandchildren feel special on their birthdays and holidays.

Doris was a good wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loyal friend. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen "Kadie" Bowen of Mineral Ridge, Laura L. Bowen and Joe Kusmierczyk of Niles; son, Mel Bowen and Marilyn Gatta of Girard three grandchildren, Travis (Andrea) Cross, Zackary (Carlota) Bowen, Cade McCreanor (Amber Nestor); great granddaughter, Katelynn Cross; sister, Pat Lally of Livonia, Michigan; her special friends, Mary and Donnie Pugh, Paul Speero, Gordon Chambers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Richard "Dick" Bowen whom she married in October 1946 and who died on April 4, 1965; grandson, Shane Thomas Cross; four sisters, Edna Eliassen, Alma Partin, Ellen Petrarca, Marie Martin; three brothers, Louie Terrian, Tommy Terrian, Bill Terrian.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 25, 2023 at St. Stephen Church where family and friends may call one hour prior to the mass. Rev. Richard Murphy will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
