Earl Steadman Obituary

Earl S. Steadman, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 21, 2024 at the Tampa General Hospital after a short illness. He lived in Niles most of his life and moved to Fort Myers in 2021. He touched so many lives with his humbleness, kindness and unending love for life and others, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of many.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 16, 1938 the son of Leo David and Jessie Marie (Jahn) Steadman. He was a 1957 graduate of Port Huron High School in Michigan and attended Youngstown State University. He honorably served in the United States Navy. Earl retired in 1994 from Packard Electric as a General Foreman following 25 years of service.

Earl will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. His dedication to his family was unwavering, cherishing all the time he spent with them and always putting their needs above his own. Along with his passion for training horses, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. He was the first call if anyone needed something fixed or a project completed around the house, and would show up with his bag of tools and a genuine smile on his face, always so excited to help! In Fort Myers, Earl was the President of the Cinnamon Cove Condominium Association in which he lived. He was dedicated to making it a beautiful place for others to live. His hard work and leadership left a positive impact on the entire community. He was truly a caring and gentle soul!

Earl is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carmelia M. "Carmie" Belcastro Steadman. He always loved to dance with Carmie!

He was a loving father to four daughters, Lisa (Don) Effinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Gina (James) Coates of Niles, Amy (Gary) Goodin of Westfield, Indiana, Jamie (Matthew) Mack of Columbus. "Earl's girls" were the apple of his eye!

His fifteen grandchildren, Dominique Effinger, Mitchell Effinger, James (Sylvia) Coates, Angelene (Dominic) Naples, Jacob (Bailey) Coates, Chloe Coates, Ryan Mack, Lainey Mack, Callie Mack, Connor Schweck, Katalina Schweck, Patrick (Lindsay) Goodin, Gregory (Maggie) Goodin, Kelly Goodin, Julia Goodin will deeply mourn the loss of their beloved grandfather. He was looking forward to meeting his first great grandchild in June. He leaves behind two sisters Joyce E. (Larry) Ward of Monroe, Georgia, Patricia Gerke of Grand Rapids, Michigan and sister in law, Donna Steadman.

His parents and brothers Clifford and Leo Steadman, preceded him in death.

May Earl Steadman rest in peace, knowing that he was a cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend who touched the lives of many with his warm heart!
