Elizabeth Ann (Clingan) Baird

New Hampshire - Elizabeth Ann Clingan Baird, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Jensen Beach, Florida on Thursday June 24, 2021. She was born on April 28, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Thomas O. and Beatrice (Thomas) Clingan Jr. and was raised in the Youngstown area of Ohio.

Elizabeth enjoyed a long and full life, raising four children before obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She then began a second career initially in financial estate planning and related insurance while beginning involvement in the many facets of real estate development and property management. Her numerous ventures in real estate ownership in Massachusetts ultimately resulted in relocating to New Hampshire where she found her passion in the renovation of older properties and homes as well as real estate development involving the construction of new homes.
Elizabeth loved the community spirit of New Hampshire and was extremely giving through her real estate development projects with local contractors. She was also a longtime supporter of many charities and gave generously of her time to the Camp Fire Girls, Women in Business organizations, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Niles Historical Society. Elizabeth had a great interest in researching her family genealogy with her cousin, Margo Miles, and meeting the many relatives related to her Ohio roots. She also loved to travel and crossed the world on cruises and tours to Europe, Israel, China and Russia.

Elizabeth is survived by her four children, Richard A. (Mimi) Baird, Debra L. (Morgan) Baird both of Maryland, Jeffrey T. (Marilyn) Baird of Texas, John P. (Carolyn) Baird of Virginia, eight grandchildren, Michelle Baird, Rebekah Tuthill (Justin) Taylor, Rikkilee (Zachary) Rose, Benay Rose, Alexander Baird, Sean Baird, Aidan Baird, Julia Baird, two great grandchildren Charlotte and Jack Taylor, brother Thomas (Kathy) Clingan of New Jersey, a niece, a nephew, as well as her former husband and father of their children, Richard Baird.  Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents.

A Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Niles City Cemetery and Elizabeth will be buried with her parents. The Rev. Deborah Dockstader will officiate.
