Eric J. Gelsomino

MINERAL RIDGE - Eric J. Gelsomino, 60, passed away peacefully at 7:19 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman following complications of Covid pneumonia. Eric was born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 10, 1961 the son of Peter J. and Phyllis J. (Santisi) Gelsomino. Eric has lived in Trumbull County all his life and was a 1979 graduate of Ursuline High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Youngstown State University. He is the Co-Owner, with his sister Michele, of the Niles Sparkle Market since the death of his father in 2013. The Niles Sparkle has been a family owned business for many years in downtown Niles. Eric attended the North Mar Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Warren, and a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary since 2014.
In 2015 , Eric received the Warren Post and District Auxiliary Award of the year. He was a past president and longtime board member of the Niles Community Services and sponsored the annual Canned the Cruiser food drive with the State troopers at the Sparkle Store to support the Niles Community Services. He is a member of the Weathersfield Township Zoning Board and enjoyed golfing, the care of his home, yard and was an avid car enthusiast. Eric is survived by his wife, Trish Gelsomino whom he married June 17, 2017, son, Eric Peter (Melissa) Gelsomino, grandson Ercole all of Uniontown, Ohio, daughter, Gina Gelsomino of Warren, two sisters, Annette (Michael) Ciletti of Vienna, Michele Gelsomino of Girard, two nieces, Kayla and Sara Ciletti, and many extended family members and relatives.
Calling hours will be held at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles, on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the North Mar Church, Market Street, Warren on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior to the services at the church. Eric will be buriad with his parents at Resurrection Cemetery.
