A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me, remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.
Frank Andrew Keeley "Frankie", 52, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday evening October 18, 2022 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center due to complications from a lifelong illness. Frank was born in Warren, Ohio on November 12, 1969 the son of Terrence R. Keeley Sr. and the late Madeline Kaniclides.
Frank was a 1988 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. As # 70 he played offensive tackle for the Red Dragon Football Team and was a part of the AAAC championship team in 1987. Frank also threw the shot put for the high school track team. As a young adult, Frank worked at Toys R Us assembling bikes, he was a nurse's aid at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home and worked in shipping and receiving department at UPS.
Frank furthered his career when he obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Education from Youngstown State University. After obtaining his degree you could find Frank as a substitute teacher at various schools in Trumbull County. He also enjoyed coaching football for kids of all ages. In addition to this degree he also obtained his real estate license.
Also known as DJ Frank Michaels, Frank spent many years providing entertainment and photography for parties, weddings and graduations. He had a love for all genre of music and enjoyed entertaining at parties. As of recently you could find him managing the Sons of Italy Lodge 2884 in Niles, where he enjoyed cooking, planning parties and spinning a tune on the jukebox. Frank's hobbies included visiting pawn shops, flea markets, collecting coins and baseball cards, he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and you could also find him cheering from the stands or sidelines as one of children were playing sports.
Memories of Frank will be carried on by his loving family, his father, Terrence R. "Terry" Keeley Sr. of Niles; his four children, his life's greatest accomplishment, Mia Keeley, Matthew Keeley, Aidan Keeley, Ava Keeley; the mother of his children Crystal Lambing all of Niles; two brothers, Bryan (Melissa) Keeley of Mineral Ridge, Terry Keeley Jr of Niles; two nephews, Tyler Keeley, Dillan Keeley; three Aunts Kathy (Frank) Smith, Cheryl (Ed) Buila, Gayle Hollowell; Uncle George Kaniclides; companion Danielle Borsh-Vaughan; cousins Rick and Rob Buila, Stacey (Rob) Pryce, James (Gayle) Kaniclides, Melanie (Oscar) Morris, Mark Menegos; Godmother Efi Yiannaki and many other family and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother Madeline (Kaniclides) Keeley who died on May 13, 2021; maternal grandparents Andy and Josephine Kaniclides; paternal grandparents Frank and June Keeley; Aunts Leah Kaniclides and Helen Menegos; Godfather Tom Tedesco and cousins Andy and Tony Kaniclides.
Calling hours will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday October 23, 2022 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday October 24, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
