ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA — George E. Bisker, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, in Zephyrhills, Fla.  He was born in Youngstown on Aug. 27, 1934, the son of John J. and Mary Elizabeth Goncy Bisker.

He was a 1952 graduate of Chaney High School and a 1959 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics / education. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1956. His love for his country was evident throughout his life.  George was the director of the Northeast Ohio Management Information Network. He was responsible for the startup and management of data processing needs for 28 school districts in two counties of Northeast Ohio. He designed and installed the original telecommunications network to connect all 28 school districts to a central computer site.  He was a lifelong resident of Niles and a winter resident of Zephyrhills, Florida. George was an avid golfer, winning numerous championships. Over the years, he bowled in several leagues and was proud of his perfect “300” game. His passion for gardening produced some of the best vegetables in town. His love for travel included piloting a private plane to several destinations.

George is survived by four children, Karen Crowe (Gary Foldessy), Sharen (David) Sprague, George (Jill) Bisker and Robert (Kim) Bisker; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by Joan Bisker; brothers, John and Albert Bisker; and grandson, Ryan Crowe.

He will be missed by his family, friends at Catholic War Vets of Youngstown, and friends in Zephyrhills, Florida.

Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown at a later date.
