NILES - Ginger Lorraine Werman, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning December 1, 2021 at her residence following a long illness. Ginger was born in Pensacola, Florida on February 8, 1939 the daughter of Henry Clayton and Georgia Pearl (Reeves) Griffin.
Ginger was a former EMT and one of the first women in Civil Defense in Ohio. She was a dedicated housewife and a home healthcare aide. She was a member of the Warren Baptist Temple and past member of the Eastern Star and Past Royal Matron of Amaranth both of Youngstown. A strong and loving mother, grandmother, she was devoted to her church and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, solving crossword puzzles and watching tv. Most of all she cherished all the activities with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Ginger is survived by her children, Ethel "Ginger" (Larry) Pierson with whom she made her home, Donna Lowe of Niles, Alfred (Judy) Werman of Bradenton, Florida; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and daughter-in-law Becky Broxson of Howland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Broxson; two brothers, Henry, Robert "Bobby"; two sisters, Florence, Flora Jean; grandson, Paul Grant Warner; two son-in-laws, Robert Lowe and Al Warner.
Calling Hours will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday December 4, 2021 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor James Dittmar will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice or The Hope Center for Cancer Care in Howland.
