AUSTINTOWN - Gomer Edwin Yates, 64, passed away peacefully on Friday morning February 12, 2021 at his residence following a short illness. Gomer was born in Gary, Indiana on December 9, 1956 the son of Albert E. and Ada Aldene (King) Yates.
Gomer was a graduate of the former Warren Western Reserve High School. He was a self-employed car dealer and the owner of Red Head Auto Sales in Warren. He previously owned with his father, S and S Motors in Mineral Ridge. Gomer was a car enthusiast, he enjoyed attending car shows and driving his Corvette and Mustang. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson especially with Mary Ann to Geneva on the Lake.
An adventurous and joking person, Gomer is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Holesko) Yates whom he married November 3, 2018; five children, Tina (Tony) Denbeigh of Austintown, Penny Yates of Austintown, Linda Bradley of Niles, Eloise (Bryant) Holden of Howland, Albert Yates of McDonald; 13 grandchildren, Mayce Corsale, Marzina Yates, Shawn Booty Jr., Jessica Grate, Austin Grate, Devon Grate, Haley Griffin, Elizabeth Griffin, Jacob Griffin, Joshlin Bradley, Alexander Bradley, Lelia Holden, Amelia Holden; one great granson, Zaidyn Johnson; sister, Linda Starr-Jurgen of Mineral Ridge. Gomer was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gail Little. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles.
