Harry H. Nass Jr.

CORTLAND - Harry H. Nass Jr., 78, passed away at 6:59 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in the emergency room of Trumbull Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Harry was born in Warren, Ohio on September 30, 1943 the son of Harry H. and Clara Elsie (Lyon) Nass Sr. and has lived in Trumbull County all his life. As a youth, Harry lived in Niles and graduated from Niles McKinley High School in the 1961 graduating class. He attended Cincinnati University for three years and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Youngstown State University. He was employed for Wean Engineering of Warren, Alcan Aluminum and retired from Empire Detroit Engineering Company of Mansfield, Ohio following many years of faithful service.  Harry was a member of Saint Robert's Catholic Church in Cortland and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Scrappers fan. He enjoyed camping, traveling, picnics at the Lake and the activities at the Lake Vista Senior Community. Most importantly was his huge family and he cherished all the happy family gatherings with them.

Harry is survived by his wife JoAnne (Abbey) Nass whom he married May 10, 1969; two sons, Brian H. (Gloria Chavis) Nass of Benson, North Carolina and Kevin R. Nass of Austintown. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and only sister Linda C. Mears who died in July 2020.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Saint Robert's Church where family and friends may call one hour prior to the Mass. The Rev. Carl Kish will be the celebrant. Burial will be private at All Souls Cemetery.
