Hugh Arthur Kieley , 87, passed away peacefully on Monday May 12, 2025 at the St. Joseph Health Center surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in St. John's Newfoundland Canada on July 12, 1937, the son of Daniel William and Jean Valentine(McFarlane) Kieley.
He retired as a production planner at Republic Steel and Youngstown Sheet and Tube. He was a longtime member of Saint Pope John XXIII Parish - Saint Stephen Church where he served as a greeter and usher. Golf was his passion and he enjoyed weekly golf outings with nephews, Don Pero and Mike Pero. He also enjoyed and cherished spending time traveling to Canada with his family.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Catherine (Baxendale) Kieley whom he married in Nova Scotia on July 9, 1966 before immigrating to Ohio in 1968. He is also survived by his two daughters, Veronica Jean (George) Allen of Niles, Carol Marie (Joseph) Albanese of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; two grandsons "The best grandsons in the world", George Daniel Arthur "Dan" Allen of Niles, Anthony Joseph "AJ" Albanese of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; sister, Isabel "Mickie" and Bob Pitcher of St. John's Newfoundland and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and four brothers.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday May 16, 2025 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. on Saturday May 17, 2025 at Saint Stephen Church (Please meet at church). Rev. Bala Marneni will be the celebrant. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
