GIRARD - Jeanne Marie Gill, 70, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born in Warren on January 12, 1946 the daughter of Paul E. and June Marie (Lord) Raub Sr. She was a 1964 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a 1967 graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Pupil Personnel Services. She retired as a teacher and a state certified guidance counselor from the Niles City Schools. Throughout her career, she taught at Bonham, Garfield, Washington and Edison Schools and specialized in reading and math.
She was a member of St. Stephen Church and enjoyed flower gardening, charter boating and fishing on Lake Erie, collecting turtles, eating chocolates and playing tennis during her college years. She also loved the school activities and most of all she cherished the time spent with her family.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Arthur B. Gill whom she married on December 20, 1969; step-daughter, Deborah Scott of Coshocton; four brothers, Paul E. (Jenie) Raub Jr. of South Carolina, Frank L. Raub of Austintown, Karl (Crisceda) Raub of Vienna, Rex C. Raub of Niles; two sisters, Patricia Lauer of Howland, Barbara (Robert Sr.) Post of North Jackson; 15 nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, August 12, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Funeral will follow at noon. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
