HONOLULU, HAWAII – Jonathan Piecuch, 76, passed away on May 6, 2022 in Hawaii following a short illness. Jon was born on August 2, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Edward and Rose (Hill) Piecuch. He formerly lived in Girard, Ohio and while at Girard High School he was on the basketball team and ran track. He held the school track records in the 880 yard run.
After High School graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He honorably served from 1963 to 1967 stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Jon made Honolulu his home and after 25 years of dedicated service on the Honolulu Police Department he retired as a sergeant in 1994. He also participated in the Police Olympics in volleyball and bowling. He loved to watch all sports and to travel, especially to Las Vegas.
Jon is survived by his wife Deldrene Piecuch; friend Janice Eggleston; daughters Ronda Piecuch, Joanne Piecuch, Breeana Piecuch, Brishea Barnhill; brother Donald (Bernice) Piecuch; sisters Rozanne (Randy) Horner, Evamarie (Michael) Wasser; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Edward Piecuch and nephew Michael Piecuch.
Jon will be buried with Military Honors on June 30, 2022 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
