MINERAL RIDGE - Leona Mae Jean Moore 91, passed away peacefully at 2:46 a.m. on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at her home. She was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on November 4, 1929 the daughter of Harry Burton and Dorothea Mabel (Moore) Garvin and came to this area from Alliance, Ohio.
Mrs. Moore graduated from the Alliance School System and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. She enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, cooking, and devoted most of her energy to loving her family.
Leona Jean is survived by her eight children, Terry Moore of Bristol, Tennessee, Duane (Judith) Moore of Canfield, Brenda Rodgers of Mineral Ridge, James (Leslie) Moore of Canfield, Kenneth (Janice Dailey) Moore of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dennis (Marcee) Moore of Prattville, Alabama, Eric Moore of Mineral Ridge, Robert (Christina Yereb) Moore of Mineral Ridge; 27 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and brother, Jerry (Judy) Garvin of Diamond.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Ray Moore whom she married on June 4, 1950 and who died on July 9, 2011; son in law, David Rodgers; daughter in law, Deborah Moore; granddaughter, Melissa Sue Smith; sister, Naomi Swiner and brother, Talmadge Garvin.
Calling Hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday March 5, 2021 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral is at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 6, 2021 at the funeral home where family and friends may also call one hour prior to the service. The entombment will be at Greenhaven Memorial Park.
