Leroy Cline

NILES - Leroy Cline, "Pa", 88, passed away peacefully at 7:09 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on August 1, 1933 the son of Delmar and Dorothy (Brown) Cline. He attended Niles McKinley High School and honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a construction laborer for the Warren Engineering Company and retired in 1991. His handyman and craftsmanship skills benefited his entire family. He enjoyed golfing and played seven days a week until he was blessed with a great grandson. He loved the company of people and having conversations with them. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his loving family.

"Pa" is survived by a daughter, Karen (Brian) Smith of Niles; son, Jerry Cline of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Jason Cline, Amanda VanHorn; Kelli (Richard) Evans, Kristen Caldwell; five great grandchildren, Logan, Jake, Luke, Trevor, Cameron; two sisters, Wilma Cline of Niles, Pamela (George) Sprague of Niles; brother, Wayne (Patty) Cline of Howland and his two "granddogs" who never left his side, Gracie ("Tracie") and Bailey. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Marie (Squiric) Cline whom he married on October 10, 1953 and she died on February 12, 2018; two brothers, William and James Cline.

Calling Hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday August 23, 2021 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Brown of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church will officiate. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 737 Lake Milton Honor Guard.

The family acknowledges the kind and compassionate care of Dr. Bisel and his office staff and Dr. Francis of the Mercy Health St. Joseph Warren Hospital Cancer Center.

"For many years our "Pa" courageously fought his cancer battle. Every week, on Tuesday, "Pa" received chemotherapy treatments, establishing what is now loving know as #teampa Tuesday. We find it fitting that his final tribute and farewell is on Tuesday, August 24, 2021."
