GIRARD - Louise A. Rapp, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning at 3:15 a.m. December 5, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born in Clarion, Pennsylvania on January 2, 1937 the daughter of Lawrence and Vernice (McMurdy) Snyder.
She was a graduate of Knox High School and the Oil City School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at several hospitals including the Clarion Hospital, Warren General Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, Republic Steel and retired in 1993 after 30 years of nursing from Delphi Packard Electric.
She attended the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ and was a member of the Cortland Ladies of the Moose. She played Bass Guitar for the singing group "The Brothers and Sisters" She loved to sew and quilt and belong to the Viking Sewing Club in McKinley Heights. She also enjoyed to bake and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Early in her life, she was a 4-H advisor and a church camp nurse.
Louise is survived by her husband, Donald F. Rapp Sr. whom she married on August 23, 1958; three daughters, Linda (Robert) Stewart of Girard, Denise (Rick) Lemley of Mineral Ridge, Tammie (John) Peplowski of Liberty Township; son, Donald F. Rapp Jr. of Girard; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Zachary) Komives, Nathan (Rachel) Stewart, Andrew Lemley, Matthew Lemley, Jessica (fiance, Joseph) Lemley, Ryan Peplowski, Dylan Peplowski, Kelly Peplowski; three great grandchildren, Ruger Komives, Maevyn Komives, Kathryn Stewart.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; sister, MaryJane (Bert) McCormick and brother, Samuel (Norma) Snyder.
Calling Hours will be Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Funeral will be Monday, December 8, 2014 at noon at the funeral home. Rev. Ron Blakeman will officiate. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
