Margaret Ann Poulos, 95, departed this life on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Margaret was born in Warren, Ohio on July 17, 1927 the daughter of Michael and Mary Sanders and has lived in this area all her life.
Margaret retired in 1982 from the former Packard Electric Company following 20 years of faithful service. She also worked in the cosmetic department at the Higbee Department Store in Cleveland. She graduated in 1945 from Howland High School and was a high school spelling bee champion. She had a beautiful singing voice and was a member of the Triple Trio Singing group for many years. Margaret was very family oriented and loved to listen and dance to Big Band Music with her husband. Margaret also enjoyed reading, crafting and going to the casino with her friends.
Margaret's legacy will live on through her daughter, Stephanie (Douglas) Gabbard; son, Dr. Andrew (Angela) Poulos of Scottsdale, Arizona; four grandchildren, Ryan (Lucia) Gabbard, Aimee Gabbard, Marissa and Jenna Poulos; great granddaughters Olivia and Theodora Gabbard; and brother, Michael Sanders of Howland. Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Frank A. Poulos whom she married July 13, 1947; two sisters, Mary Kish, Anne Kubinski and brother John Hulan.
The Funeral will be at Noon on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Margaret will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery, Warren.
The family extends a special "Thank You" to her caregiver and cherished friend Christine Fitzpatrick along with Rev. Brian Crivella of Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church, the caring staff of Crossroads Hospice and Community Skilled Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
