Margarett Hegel

Margarett H. Hegel, 92, passed away peacefully at 11:50 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Canfield Health Care Center, Cornersburg following a long illness. Margarett was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 4, 1930 the daughter of Adam and Emma (Evans) Johnson and has lived in Mineral Ridge most of her life. She was known by family and friends as Peg. Peg retired in 1999 form the Fairhaven School System where she was a bus driver for over 34 years. She was a member of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ.

Margarett is survived by a son, John A. Hegel of Mineral Ridge; daughter Joy A. Hegel; granddaughter, Victoria "Tori" (Mark) Dailey; two great grandsons Justin and Brian all of Mineral Ridge.

Margarett was preceded in death by her husband John Joseph Hegel whom she married in August 4, 1948 and who died on January 7, 2002; daughter Jill A. Hegel who died on December 1, 2018; two brothers Adam "Butch" Johnson, James Johnson and sister Marilyn Love.

A private burial will be at Kerr Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home 126 West Park Avenue, Niles, Ohio 44446.
