Marilyn J. Rankin, 88, passed away peacefully at 7:06 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Trumbull Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Marilyn was born in Warren, Ohio on November 16, 1934 the daughter of Wayne L. and Elizabeth (Dennison) Miller and has lived in this area all her life.
Marilyn was a 1952 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and retired in 1995 following 28 years of faithful service as an administrative assistant for the United States Government. She was a longtime member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and actively served on several committees within the church. In recent years, she was a member of the Howland United Methodist Church. Marilyn was a member of the Niles Historical Society and the Quest Club. Over the years, she enjoyed traveling, listening to music, playing the organ, piano and violin. She was an avid reader and did cross word puzzles, roller skating, and enjoyed her large collection of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.
Marilyn is survived by a son, Larry (Linda) Rankin of Kinsman; daughter, Lynette (Kenny) Ruscitti of Niles; three grandchildren, Michael (Chelsie) Ruscitti, Nick (Brook) Manser, Alicia (Brian) Bradford; and seven great grandchildren: Hunter, Noah, Joey, Emma, Victoria, Stella and Aria. She was preceded in death by her husband John Howard Rankin whom she married August 7, 1956 and he passed away on December 20, 2010 and a brother, Harlan D. Miller.
Funeral services will be held at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles, at Noon on Thursday, April 6, 2023 with visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. The Rev. Matt Darrin will officiate. Burial will follow at the Niles City Cemetery.
