Marjorie Monos Obituary

NILES - Marjorie L. (Hegel) Monos, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday evening June 20, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. Marjorie was born in Mineral Ridge, Ohio on April 19, 1929 the daughter of Martin and Retta (Reeves) Hegel and has lived in this area all her life. Marge was a supervisor of children for the Fairhaven Sheltered Workshop for many years, graduated from Mineral Ridge High School in 1947, and attended the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking and family activities with her children, granddaughters and great grandchildren. Marjorie was married to Leslie R. Monos Jr. on June 15, 1949 and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2018. Her sister Ella Mae Gibson and two brothers Carl and John Hegel are all deceased.
Marge is survived by a daughter, Sherry L. (Barry) Cameron of Oak Island, North Carolina; son, Terry R. (Cheryl) Monos of Niles; two granddaughters, Lesley (Derek) Pressell, Natalie (Dave) Fogata all of Twinsburg; six great grandchildren, Bella Pressell, Mason Fogata, Hunter Pressell, Aubrey Fogata, Olivia Fogata, and Jackson Fogata.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her neighbors, Jerry and Ro Fralick; caregiver, Linda Willis and the staff at Southern Care Hospice. At the request of Marjorie, a celebration of life will be announced in the future by the family.
Material contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or the Bright Focus Foundation for Macular Degenerative Research.
