NILES - Martha Imelda (Lally)
  Marek, 93, passed away on Wednesday morning April 10, 2013
  at Autumn Hills Care Center.
  She was born in Warren on May 16, 1919 the
  daughter of Raymond B. and Nellie (Smith) Lally.  As part of a
  musical family, she became an accomplished pianist and regularly
  played for the Niles Rotary Club Lunches.
  A 1937 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and
  the Warren Business College, she was the secretary for the Niles
  Municipal Court and Judge Giffen.  She was a member of St.
  Stephen Church and the church choir.
  After meeting at the Warren Tennis Club, Martha
  and Edwin F. Marek became engaged and were married at St. Stephen
  Church in Niles in May of 1959.  Together they enjoyed tennis,
  golf and travels, including trips to Russia, Poland, Rio, and South
  Africa among others.  Included were rounds of golf on more
  than 20 different courses overseas, including Scotland, Spain,
  Ireland, Australia and South Africa.  She also enjoyed
  needlework, creating stained glass art and activities at the Niles
  SCOPE center.
  For many years, she and her husband lived in
  Rahway, New Jersey and in the early 1990's they moved back to Niles
  to be with family.
  Martha is survived by several nieces, nephews and
  cousins including, Marcella Burgess of Niles.
  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin
  who died on January 11, 2013; her parents; two brothers, Raymond S.
  Lally, Infant Paul Lally and a sister, Mary Jean Lally.
  Calling hours will be Saturday, April 13, 2013
  from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.
  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Stephen
  Church.  Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will be the celebrant.
  Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
