Nancy Jo Wood

Nancy Jo Wood, 86, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday August 13, 2023 at the Lake Vista Nursing Home in Cortland. She was born in Warren, Ohio on January 27, 1937 the daughter of Rev. Paul H. and Rebecca E. (Seiple) Winyard.

She was a 1955 graduate of Howland High School and worked at Packard Electric for a short time. She was a homemaker and was active with her sons' activities at the Warren YMCA where everyone knew her as a second mother. Nancy Jo enjoyed woodcarving, painting and playing BINGO at the Niles Senior Center (SCOPE) where she also was a volunteer for many years. For many years, she and Bill enjoyed going to auctions.

Nancy Jo is survived by her husband and the love of his life for 66 years, Clarence W. "Bill" Wood whom she married on June 8, 1957; two sons, Robert A. (Laura) Wood of Medina, John A. (Michelle) Wood of Cleveland; granddaughter, Melissa (Jimmy) McCoy of Medina; two great grandchildren, Adalyne McCoy, Kaden McCoy; grandson in law Ben Chronister of Cleveland and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle Chronister; brother, Charles Winyard; three sisters, Margaret Harding, Betty Taneri and Elva.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday August 19, 2023 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity, or Helping Hands Fund at Ohio Living Lake Vista, 303 North Mecca Street, Cortland, Ohio 44410, in memory of Nancy Wood. The family offers a thank you to the staff of Lake Vista in Cortland for their kind and compassionate care.
