Nina Jean McCloskey

Nina Jean McCloskey, 79, passed away at 9:21 a.m. on Thursday January 12, 2023 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman following a long illness. She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1943 the daughter of William and Betty (Hudock) Vilseck.

She was a graduate of Cleveland West Tech High School and a member of St. Stephen Church in Niles. Nina was one of the first female police officers in the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department where she served the community for ten years. For twenty years she served as a 911 Dispatcher for Broward County Florida. Before her retirement she was a home health care aide in Missouri. Nina enjoyed drawing, coloring and painting.

Nina is survived by her husband, Walter McCloskey whom she married on September 8, 2012; two step-sons, Donald R. McCloskey of Warren, Ronald J. McCloskey of Niles; step-granddaughter, Alexis McCloskey and sister, Louise Stironek of Parma.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at St. Stephen Church in Niles. Rev. Richard Murphy will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Cleveland.
