Paula Griffiths Obituary
MINERAL RIDGE - Paula Lianne Griffiths, 73, passed away peacefully Wednesday June 6, 2018 at the Brookdale Senior Living in Austintown. Paula was born in Warren, Ohio on July 22, 1944 the only daughter of Paul H. and Genevieve (Beatty) Griffiths.
Paula was a 1962 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. She was a cum laude graduate of Hiram College and a member of the second graduating class of the weekend college. Paula worked for many years for Citicorp, finally as the Vice President of Internet Banking for South and Central America. She was a world traveler and spoke French and Spanish fluently. Spanish class was a regular part of her life.
Paula loved South Florida and lived there for nearly forty years. When Paul Warfield went to play for the Miami Dolphins, Paula became a Dolphins fan and was a season ticket holder. She also loved Don Shula and Dan Marino. Paula held tickets for the NFL Hall of Fame games, and she was there when Shula was inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame. She generously shared her tickets with her niece and nephew and their friends.
Paula is survived by two brothers, Glenn (Michelle) Griffiths of Mineral Ridge, Chuck (Lina) Griffiths of Charlotte, North Carolina; her nephews Paul and Zachary Griffiths; niece Alison Brooke Griffiths (whom she called Brooke); great niece Maddie (Matt) Roberts; nephews Carlos (Amanda) Choren, Michael (Marla) Choren; great nephew and nieces, Will and Katie Choren, Blair Kimberly Choren and her best friends, Julie (Williamson) Grewell, Nancy Basciano, Sandy Woods and Beverly Marks.
A Memorial Service will be Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles. The Rev. Jamie Milton of the Mineral Ridge First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Paula will be buried privately with her parents at Kerr Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to the donor's church or a charity of their choice.
