YOUNGSTOWN - Pearl Evelyn Walters, 105, formerly of 561 Sherman Street, Niles passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday October 20, 2015 at the Hospice House in Poland.
She was born in Edinburg, Pennsylvania on March 26, 1910 the daughter of Lawrence and Maria Victoria (Zingerene) Rotunno.
Pearl was a waitress at the cafeteria and restaurant in The Rolling Mill which became RMI in Weathersfield Township. It was there she met her future husband Lewis Walters. She was a member of St. Stephen Church. She was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed cooking, baking, watching television, babysitting the neighborhood children and playing jacks. She cherished the time spent with her family.
Pearl is survived by three daughters, Mary Foster of Newton Falls, Donna (David) Sabolia of Fort Mills, North Carolina, Roberta "Bobbie" (Mark) Wheeler of Mineral Ridge; son, David (Barbara) Walters of Niantic, Connecticut; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Walter who died on November 1, 1964; daughter, June Harper; son, Alvin Walters; six brothers and two sisters.
Calling hours will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where the St. Stephen Bereavement Ministry will have a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Service of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
