Regina Holloway Obituary
NILES - Regina (Marado) Holloway, 87, passed away peacefully at 5:10 am on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at her residence.
She was born in Warren, Ohio on August 9, 1926 the daughter of Charles and Barbara Grace (Kriston) Marado and lived in this community her entire life.
She attended St. Stephen Elementary School and was a 1944 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. She also graduated from the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse. For many years, she was a nurse at the Niles City Schools and volunteered at St. Stephen School and the Niles Board of Health. She was a member of St. Stephen Church, its Reachout Committee and the Niles Catholic Womens Club. She was inducted into the Niles McKinley Distinguished Hall of Fame Class of 2000.
Jeannie is survived by eight children, James L. (Cathy) Holloway Jr. of Parrotsville, Tennessee, Charles R. (Beth) Holloway of Cary, North Carolina, Donald P. Holloway of Savanna, Georgia, Thomas F. (Patricia) Holloway of Howland, Marygrace (John) Rowlands of Lake Orion, Michigan, Dennis G. (Mary) Holloway of Branchburg, New Jersey, John C. (Denise) Holloway of Niles, Bruce E. (Lena) Holloway of Niles; 15 grandchildren; two great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Holloway Sr. whom she married on June 8, 1953 and who died on March 4, 1994; sister, Alice Marado and brother, Charles Marado.
Calling hours will be Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 2 to 6 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 31, 2014 at noon at St. Stephen Church. Rev. Thomas Kraszewski and Rev. John Trimbur will be the celebrants. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MVI Hospice, 4891 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505 or St. Stephen Church, 129 W. Park Ave., Niles, OH 44446.
