Richard Bower Sr. Obituary

WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP - Richard L. Bower Sr. 84, passed away peacefully at 7:24 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the St. Joseph Health Center.

Richard was born in Orwell, Ohio on December 8, 1936 the son of Lee Grant and Bertha Louise (Smith) Bower. He was a 1954 graduate of Leavittsburg High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a union outside lineman electrician for over 40 years and traveled to work throughout Ohio and retired in 2001.

Rick and Jeanne lived in Lake Milton for over 20 years where he built their dream home and they spent many winters in Clermont, Florida. He was a member of Saint Stephen Church, Niles, ITAM of McKinley Heights, Warren VFW 1090, Lake Milton American Legion, and the Warren Moose Lodge. Rick road Harleys all of his life with his final ride this past summer at 84 years old. He also enjoyed water sports especially on Lake Milton, golfing and his dog "Teddy" He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Ohio State Buckeye fan.

Rick is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanne Edna (Porter) Bower whom he married August 30, 1957; son, Richard L. Bower Jr. of Warren; two daughters, Cindy (Michael) Green of Niles, Julia (Jay) Sylvester of Niles; and six grandchildren John, Sarah, Mallory, Lauren, Chrissy and Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christine Louise Bower and brother, Louis Bower.

In keeping with Richard's wishes, a private family celebration of his life will be held in the future.
