Sharon A. Markowitz

Sharon A. Markowitz , 87, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon January 10, 2025 at the Continuing Healthcare of Niles. Sharon was born in Terraville, South Dakota on November 7, 1937 the daughter of Morlan and Effie (Johnson) Lee.

She was a 1955 graduate of Rapid City (SD) High School and earned a teacher's degree from State College in South Dakota. She student taught at the country school in South Dakota before she met and married William Markowitz in 1956. They moved to Ohio and she began working at the First National Bank. Nothing brought her more joy than her trips to the casino or playing a lively game of phase10 with loved ones. She enjoyed her ladies card club, but especially she cherished the time spent with her family.

Sharon is survived by her children, Bill (Janice) Markowitz of St. Pete, Florida, Nancy (Tim) Dooley of Berwick, Pennsylvania, Ron (Dee) Markowitz Sr. of Niles, Paul (Kirk Paskal) Markowitz of Miami Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Billy (Jenna) Markowitz, Ami (Mark) Lake, Kristen (Jon) Kenney, R.J. (Carlye) Markowitz, Jessica Markowitz, Breeanna Markowitz, Steffanlee Markowitz; five great grandchildren, Gabbie, Lexie, Cameron, Carter, Aiden; and her sister, Jean Dyer of Spearfish, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by a son, Doug Markowitz; grandson, Steven; daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Markowitz.

Sharon will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, laughter and living life to the fullest will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Honoring her wishes, a luncheon and memorial service will be held in the future.
