Tammie Jo Hake, 62, passed away peacefully at 9:21 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Howland following a long battle with bulbar ALS.
She was born in Grafton, West Virginia on July 14, 1960 the daughter of Jesse Vincent and Armenta Mae (Hoover) Goff. Tammie was a graduate of Grafton (WV) High School and was a office manager for Dr. Larry Chen in Warren for over 24 years. She was a member of St. Stephen Church in Niles and enjoyed being outdoors, shopping, talking on the phone, and reading. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
Tammie is survived by her husband Christopher J. Hake whom she married on August 28, 1981; three children, Christopher Michael (Christina) Hake of West Virginia, Jennifer (Bradley) Brown of Catawba Island, Katie (Gary) Rowley of Niles; six grandchildren, Christian Hake, Cyrus Hake, Logan Brown, Camryn Brown, Ethan Rowley, Aubrie Rowley; sister, Sandra Rader of Columbus; brother, Gregory Michael Goff of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Timothy, Joseph and James Goff.
The family said a private and loving “Good Bye” to Tammie. No funeral service will be held.
Tammie will donate her organs for the medical research of ALS by the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Cleveland Clinic. The family hopes this will help others to understand the causes, care and possible cure of those with Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS).
The Hake family appreciates the compassionate care of the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Howland.
