William E. Neiss

NILES - William E. Neiss 86, passed away on Thursday afternoon July 22, 2021 at his home. He was born in Warren, Ohio on December 11, 1934 the son of George W. and Alice (Rader) Neiss and lived in the Niles community his entire life.
He was a 1952 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and honorably served in the United States Navy. He worked for 35 years at Ameritech Ohio Bell Telephone Company, AT and T and retired in 1990. Following his retirement he was at the Howland School System for several years. William was a member of the Niles First United Methodist Church, the United States Power Squadrons and an original member of the Niles Y Cruise Club. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed boating.
William is survived by his wife, Mary Alice (Adams) Neiss whom he married on October 19, 1957; son, Brian Edwin (Marcia) Neiss of Hubbard; daughter, Treva Lee Neiss of Niles, four grandchildren, Adrianne Neiss of Salt Lake City, Utah, Christopher (Courtney) Neiss of Vienna, Brian (Kayla) Neiss of Ashtabula, Michael Neiss of Geneva, three great-grandchildren Wyatt, Charlotte, and Ashton, a sister, Shirley Harris of Cortland, and niece Cynthia Harris.
At William's request a private services will be held at a future date. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
