NILES - Edward John Baran, 56, of Niles, passed away on Wednesday May 26, 2010 at 3:55 pm.
He was born in Warren, Ohio on March 13, 1954 to Edward William and Dolores (Serotka) Baran and lived in this community most of his life.
A Mineral Ridge High School graduate, Ed worked in the maintenence department at General Electric, Niles Glass Plant where he also served as the Union President. He enjoyed sking, weight lifting, playing the guitar and taking Harley Davidson motor cycle trips and runs for fundraising efforts.
He is survived by his mother, Dolores Baran of Warren and her companion, Angelo James of Niles; his special friend and companion, Rose Yanucci of Warren; three sisters, Diane (Doug) Jones of Charlotte, SC, Cheryl Felger of Austintown, Marylou (Tom) Allison of Champion; brother, Charles (Karen) Baran of Warren; several nieces, nephews, great nephews and a great niece.
Calling hours are Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 10 am to noon at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at noon with Rev. Thomas Kraszewski officiating. Burial will be at St. Stephen Cemetery.
