NILES - Joan Johanna Kish, 91, of 3570 Heritage Club Drive, Hilliard, Ohio died at 7:25pm, Saturday July 24, 2010 at Carriage Court Nursing Home following an extended illness.
She was born in Germany on May 9, 1919 to George and Maria (Brandl) Schrank and came to Niles in 1951 and moving to the Columbus area in 2009.
Joan was an avid baker and cake decorator, being employed for 15 years at the former Keyser Bakery in Niles and 15 years for the former Zofko Bakery in Warren. She was a member of Saint Stephens Church, Niles and enjoyed reading.
Joan is survived by her daughter Rosemary Maki and granddaughter Debbie Morris of Dublin, Ohio and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents in Germany and husband Sigmund Kish who she married October 6, 1945 and died June 15, 2009, three grandsons, two brothers and two sisters.
Graveside chapel services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:00pm at the All Souls Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Thomas Kraszewski officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
