BURIAL ~ Pineview Cemetery

NILES - Leonard M. Loudin (Papa) passed away early morning Monday, December 5, 2011 at the age of 70 in his home in Niles,OH.
Everyone has their own beliefs and faith, but the one true belief we all have in common is that we all believe in love. Leonard was loved so much by his family and friends, it was easy to love him back as much as he loved us.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Ida.  The two were married October 14, 1968 and worked sided by side in their Hair Salon for 50 years before they retired.
Writing this obituary as his Grandson and keeping my perspective in mind.  Leonard put the "Father" in Grandfather, growing up without a "Father Figure" in the early stages of my life, Papa stepped into that role without hesitation and with open arms. For the life of me I can't remember him saying the word "no".  He was always there to help us and the sacrifices he made to help me, my sister and mother when we needed it the most.  There is no one that would go so far to help his family than him.  He was a Father to my Mother and truly a Grand-Father to my sister and I. Growing up our homes were literally separated by less than 5 feet, but you may as well have just combined the two homes into one.
I'll never forget Papa playing the organ in his living room, sitting in the Beauty Shop while he and my Grandmother (Gommie) worked and going to West Virginia to see his family with him... not because I wanted to go to West Virginia, but because I didn't want to be away from my Papa.
Some kid grow up and lose a little appreciation for their grandparents, and I don't mean that in a negative way, you grow up and they grow old.  Saving visits for holidays or to just occasionally check in on them.  Well, I suppose I never grew up, Papa and Gommie are just that special to me, I enjoy their company and always wanted to be there.
On this day, the day that Papa passed away, I can only say that he will be missed so much for so long and the memories myself and the rest of his family have will never fade away.  I love you with all my heart Papa and a moment in my life will not pass without me thinking of you.  And lastly I just want to say thank you, thank you for everything.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Ida, daughters, Lonna (Wayne) Mackey, Marcia (Bob) Bianco; daughter-in-law, Connie Davis; grandchildren, Ryan (Beth) Shelar, Kelli (Chris) Caraway, Bryan Davis, Dena (Dan) Brown, Heidi Bianco, Dude (Kelly) Bianco; ten great grandchildren; best friend and caregiver, Michael DiCello; siblings, Mary, Sandy (Harvey) Kelly, Betty, Bernie (Nancy), Sam (Ruth), Marlon (Idella); niece, Beverly Bruno; extended family, Sam Davis, Chrissy (Mike), Amie (Rich), and Ronnie (Becky).
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents; son, Terry Davis; grandson, Derek Shelar; brothers, Masel and Jimmy; sister Mildred; and of course his furry companion Baby.
Calling Hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.  The Funeral will  be Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.  Rev. John Mizgerd of the Niles Christian Assembly will officiate.  Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.

I remember as I grew up how exciting it was for Uncle Leonard to come for a visit. I loved to listen to him talk and laugh.I was really disappointed that he wasn't well enough to come in for the family reunion this last summer. As I read his obituary I can tell he was very loved by the grandson who wrote it. Our thoughts are with you all. Love to Uncle Leonard
