NILES - Lorraine Marie Minor, 78, of Niles, passed away peacefully at 9:09 am on Monday June 21, 2010 at her loving daughter Diane's residence in Mineral Ridge.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 31, 1932 to William and Irene (Snyder) Schultz.
A housewife and mother who cherished the time spent raising her eleven children, she enjoyed solitaire, bird watching, flower gardening and especially watching her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Stephen Church, Niles and St. Gabriel Church, Chicago.
Lorraine is survived by ten children, Robert Lee (Sue) Minor Jr. of Lordstown, William (Rose) Minor of Chardon, Daniel Minor of Niles, Michael (Lisa) Minor of Lordstown, Leon (Lori) Minor of Lordstown, Wayne Minor of McKinley Heights, Karen Breetz of Howland, Kim Minor of Niles, Diane (Len) Circella of Mineral Ridge, Irene Minor & Bill of North Jackson; 34 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine Narvaes of San Jose, CA, Shirley Pronshinske of Arcadia, WI; brother, William (Leda) Schultz of Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, Pam (Ron) Pellack of Chicago, IL, Mitzi Tanner of Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leo Minor Sr. whom she married on February 3, 1951 and who passed away on July 28, 1988; son, Kenneth James Minor; five grandchildren, Stephen, Brandon Robert, Glenn Michael and two infants; two sisters, Evelyne Kogut, Ethel Majetia; four brothers, an infant, James Eugene Schultz, Harold Schultz, Walter Schultz.
The family will forever be grateful and owe a special thank you to MVI Hospice, staff and especially Leslie, Lynn, Angela and Dr. Vincent Malkovits who went beyond his call to duty in the comfort care he provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MVI Hospice, 4891 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
A Graveside funeral and burial will be Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen Cemetery. Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will officiate.
