HOWLAND - Mary S. Kos, 95, died
Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 12:30 pm at Shepherd of the Valley
Nursing Home, Howland.
She was born in Niles on December 2, 1915 the
daughter of Stephan and Eva (Paljan) Spoljaric and lived in the
Niles community most of her life.
A member of St. Stephen Church, she was an avid
Niles McKinley High School and Ohio State football fan. She
was also active with the Warren Junior Military Band.
Mary is survived by two sons, Gregory (Eileen)
Kos of Summerville, SC, Richard (Christy) Kos of Cortland; six
grandchildren, Julie (Scott) Gearhart, Heather Kos, Abbey Kos,
Johnathon Kos, Haley Kos, Hannah Kos; three great grandchildren,
Cameron, Lauren and Peyton.
She was preceded in death by her husband John
Joseph Kos whom she married on September 28, 1940 and who died on
May 17, 1993; sister, Kathrine Stanec and brother, Joseph
Spoljaric.
A private family service was held on Friday,
October 28, 2011 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Burial
was in Calvary Cemetery.
